Visual Language
The opportunity to share your response, write a review, and view a conversation around a film is at the core of what Letterboxd offers. There is a simple joy through engaging with others through the lens of film and this discussion is all communicated through reading writing on Letterboxd. The visual identity looks at ways to utilize the formal characteristics of writing as a way of developing a visual language for the brand. Using the formal characteristics of each letter, word, and then paragraph provided a scalable system of forms that honored the uniqueness of each opinion while also feeling tied to a consistent visual system.
